Union Point Clean-Up – Pick Up Day – May 22, 2023

CITY OF UNION POINT SPRING PROPERTY CLEANING PICK-UP BEGINS MAY 22, 2023

The City of Union Point will be holding its annual “Spring Clean-Up” in May. We ask that you place discarded household and yard items along the street in front of your home for pick-up the weekend before pick-up begins. All items must be out for pick-up by the morning of May 22nd. The city workers will only make one trip down each street so please make sure to place all items along the roadside before 7:30 a.m. on May 22nd. Your cooperation will be appreciated.

A large roll-off bin will also be located and monitored at 211 South Hilliard Street May 22nd through 28th for use by Union Point Citizens if you would prefer to place items in the roll-off yourselves. DO NOT BRING TIRES OR UNAUTHORIZED ITEMS TO THIS BIN.

NOTE: There will not be a bin for tires this year. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE TIRES ALONG THE ROADSIDE FOR PICK-UP.

The City WILL NOT pick up or dispose of the following unauthorized items if they are placed by the road:

• Building Materials (Roofing Materials/Shingles, Metal, etc.)
• Heavy Consumer Durables/Appliances (i.e.: Dish Washers, A/C or Heating Units)
• Household Garbage
• Hazardous or Industrial Waste (Oil, Batteries, Paint Cans, Tires)

  AGAIN: Please DO NOT PLACE THE ABOVE-MENTIONED ITEMS beside the road to be picked up. The city will not pick up these items.

  ITEMS AUTHORIZED TO BE PICKED UP INCLUDE:

Relatively lightweight electronic consumer durables/appliances (TVs, radios, digital media players, microwaves, coffee makers, computers, collegiate refrigerators, etc.); Furniture (chairs, sofas, cushions, mattresses, tables, lawn furniture, water hoses, children’s outdoor toys, bicycles, plastic or resin planters, resin trash bins, coolers)

REMINDER: ALL HOME AND PROPERTY OWNERS ARE ASKED TO KEEP LAWNS MOWED AND MAINTAINED. LET’S KEEP OUR COMMUNITY CLEAN AND MORE ATTRACTIVE FOR THOSE WHO CALL UNION POINT HOME.
