The City of Union Point provides water, sewer and natural gas services to the residents of the City.


All persons requesting service or transfer of service must apply in person at the City Hall at 107 Scott Street.

Bureau Veritas North America provides all services for the City’s Building and Planning & Zoning needs and enforces compliance in this area.

Recreation

Below are the facilities that are available to rent for recreational needs.


Community Center

Most commonly used for family reunions, social gatherings, birthday parties, receptions, etc.

The Community Center is a non profit entity and is governed by a board of directors.  The reservation calendar and payments are handled by the Board of Directors of the Community Center.

Fire Department


The Union Point Volunteer Fire Department consists of a dedicated group of volunteers who expend a lot of time and energy to make the Fire Department a very successful fire department. The Fire Chief is Will Wright.

The City’s fire rating is Class Four (4). This rating is very important to the property owners of the community as the fire insurance rates are determined by this rating. The Fire Department is located at 4700 Lamb Avenue, Union Point.

Tri-County Natural Gas Authority


Tri-County Natural Gas serves Greene, Oglethorpe, Taliaferro and Madison Counties.

Natural gas burns very clean and efficiently. Natural gas is used for furnaces, water heaters, ranges, gas grills and fireplaces.

Municipal Court meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Four-Room School Building, 211 Veazey Street.

Union Point Municipal Court does not accept personal checks for bonds or fines. They must be paid with certified funds or cash.

Water & Sewer Department


David Stephens is the City of Union Point’s Public Works Superintendent and Bob Eddy is the City’s Water Plant Operator. Dolphin Gouch is the City’s Waste Water Plant Operator. All three men have served the City in their capacities for serveral years.
